1. Do correct warm-up and cool-down after every match / practice.
2. Be prepared: In your tennis bag pack power bands, dynabands, jump rope, hat, sunscreen, wrist bands, nutritional bars, chapstick, tape, etc.
3. Drink 8 - 10 glasses of water daily.
4. Train S. M. A. R. T. Incorporate a fitness program specifically designed for a tennis player.
5. Avoid dangerous and improper training / stretches techniques to reduce injuries.
6. To improve your first step, train by doing shorter burst running drills. (Long distance running makes a player slower.)
7. Strengthening your abdominals and back is your primary focus in your training.
8. Use resistance bands for strength training for pre-teen athletes.
9. Arrive at the tournament 30 minutes before the match to prepare. (run and stretch...)
10. Proper nutrition and good sleep habits (8 hours) are necessary for good performance.
